Many thanks, ldm. I’ve added the Pevsner book, but I’m not sure whether the House Histories book relates enough to stately homes or larger country houses for inclusion here, because the book seems to mostly focus on smaller urban domestic homes.

I have pre-ordered ‘House Histories’, and will let you know how much of it is about country houses once I get it and have a chance to look through it.

      • Editor says:

Much appreciated, ldm, because it’s sometimes difficult to accurately screen books for relevance, based on little or no publisher/author advance information. The History Press currently has nothing, while Melanie Backe-Hansen gives a few brief details on her blog. The book may be of interest if the home of P.G. Wodehouse discussed is Hunstanton Hall.
