Mawley Hall, Shropshire, England (early) – asking £10m, 550 acres, Grade I, last sold 1962 to Anthony Galliers-Pratt, launched Sep 2017, Wiki.

Kingston Lisle Park, Oxfordshire, England (May) – over £18m with 257 acres, by Jamie Lonsdale to a European, 700 acres sold separately by 2017, brochure, videovideoGrade II*, launched May 2013 £35m 1,021 acres, Wiki.

Easthampstead Park, Berkshire, England (Sep) – sold to Active Hospitality by Bracknell Forest Council, launched Apr 2018, Wiki.

Mottram Hall, Cheshire, England (Sep) – sold to Champneys (owned by Dorothy and Stephen Purdew) by real estate investment company Aprirose, Wiki.

Bishton Hall, Staffordshire, England (cNov) – sold to a party who plan to restore it as a functions venue by the Stafford Northcote family (who ran it as St Bede’s School), last sold 1946.

Wood House, Essex, England (Dec – tbc) – asking £4.725m, 16 acres, Grade II, sold by Sir Rod Stewart, launched 2016 £7.5m, 24 acres, under offer Oct.

Kinrara House, Inverness-Shire (Nov) – asking £3m, 1,010 acres, sold to Anders Holch Povlsen.

Alltyrodyn Mansion, Ceredigion, Wales (Sep) – asking £800k, 20 acres, Grade II*, H&H, launched June 2018.

Eden Mansion, St Andrews, Fife (Sep) – asking £1.75m, 5 acres, formerly B&B, reportedly sold to Indian billionaire for student daughter, launched Jan 2018.

Wordsley Manor, West Midlands, England (Dec) – £318k, 1.5 acres, sold to Hamza Chowdry (20yo uni student), Grade II*, launched Jun 2017 £350k.

2018 Contents Auctions (sale of house contents in situ or at auction houses):

Milford House, County Carlow, Ireland – 20 Nov by Fonsie Mealy, viewing in-situ, auction at Talbot Hotel, home of the Alexander family since it was built in 1799, house for sale €1.375m 50 acres.

Faringdon House, Oxfordshire, England – 12 April at Christie’s.

Bishton Hall, Staffordshire, England – over 300 items (in situ since 1946), 10-19 Oct by Hansons Auctioneers.

Sold in 2013 or 2015:

Ven House, Somerset, England – by Jasper Conran to Charles Lamb Allen, Baron Allen of Kensington.

Sold in 2019:

3 Carlton Gardens, London, England (Jan) – £95m, sold to US billionaire Ken Griffin.
Holmwood House, Henley, England (Nov) – £11.25m to US billionaire Rupert Murdoch.

Sold in 2020:

Great Tew Manor, Oxfordshire, England – derelict, to US billionaire Rupert Murdoch to restore.
Weston Hall, Northamptonshire (late) – guide price £3.25m 48acres, launched July 2020, Grade II bc1680-90, owned since 1714 by Sitwell family. Contents auction 16-17 Nov 2021.
Plas Glynllifon, Gwynedd, Wales (Nov) – asking £2m, 16 acres, sold to Manchester developer David Savage by Rowena and Paul Williams (in receivership), Grade I.

New Wardour Castle, Wiltshire, England – apartment by Jasper Conran. Contents auction Sep 2021.

Sold in 2021:

Newby Wiske Hall, North Yorkshire, England (Aug).
Forcett Hall, North Yorkshire, England – to property developer Karen Stephenson. Contents auction 19-20 March, total hammer price of £515,000 with an 83% sold rate for 695 lots.
Loftus Hall, Fethard-on-Sea, Co Wexford, Ireland (Aug) – asking €2.5m, 63 acres, sold by Aidan Quigley (bought 2011 €625,000).

Sold in 2022:

Joyce Grove, Oxfordshire, England (Jan) – valued at £20m with 27acres, sold by Sue Ryder (former hospice) to Beechcroft Developments. Childhood home of James Bond author Ian Fleming.
Compton Bassett House, Wiltshire, England (Jan) – asking £6.75m, 71 acres, unlisted, launched 2010 for £7.5m, last sold Feb 2009 £8.1m to Robbie Williams, Country Seat.
Erindale House, Co Carlow, Ireland (Feb) – asking €1.1m, 30 acres, built by 1st Duke of Wellington, under offer Aug 2021, contents auction 1,594 lots 1-4 Mar 2022.
