The reputed grave of Robin Hood in West Yorkshire, marked by a monument in the woods near the River Calder, is for sale for £7m as part of the 750-acre Kirklees Estate, which includes the remaining gatehouse of the lost Kirklees Priory, all now separated from Kirklees Hall, which was restored and divided into 15 homes in the late 1990s (completed in about 2000) by Historic Restorations Ltd. According to folklore Robin Hood, before his death while being nursed by his cousin the Prioress of Kirklees Priory, fired an arrow through a window and requested he be buried where it landed.

Bodnant Hall£50m Christie’s private sale of Picasso‘s 1901 painting Child with a Dove to a foreign buyer by Baron Aberconway (bequeathed to Lady Christabel Aberconway by Samuel Courtauld in 1947) has been granted a temporary export bar until 16 December 2013 (and probably also to 16 June 2013), to allow a UK purchaser to match the price. It has been on public display at the National Gallery since her death in 1974, and is currently on loan to the National Galleries of Scotland for their Picasso exhibition.
